Jeff Goumas, M.Ed., is a product developer/manager and teacher educator who focuses on the intersections of open education, strategic edtech integration, and digital skills development. As a Senior Technical Advisor at World Education, he leads a range of teacher professional development initiatives focused on supporting adult educators in building evidence-based edtech strategies into their instructional routines. As the Director of World Education’s CrowdED Learning initiative, he has developed applications and professional development models to support educators to use open educational resources (OERs), with a focus on educator collaboration in the development of OERs to help increase the availability of high-quality, free, engaging learning resources for adult learners. Jeff has a B.S. in Elementary Education from Keene State College and an M.Ed. in Technology in Education from Lesley University.

With over a decade of experience in educational support and curriculum design, I have dedicated my career to enhancing the learning experience for students of all ages. My journey began eight years at LC as an Off-Site Coordinator and DL Lead, where I assisted instructors in developing lesson plans for adult learners. While concurrently working with Laredo College and the TX DL Call Center as a Learning Support Specialist I, I assisted in writing the Digital Literacy standards. Currently, I serve as a Facilitator for our local school district, a role I have held for three years. In this capacity, I translate standards into actionable lesson plans for PK3–5th grade teachers, ensuring that every educator has the tools they need to succeed.

Since then, he has worked in many areas of adult education, including HSE and ESL instruction, remote learning, program coordination, and professional development, but he is most passionate about reaching students with math and English.

Elissa Mapp is an ESL faculty member at Austin Community College with a background in Applied Linguistics and TESOL. She has taught ESL in Texas since 2019 and in higher education since 2020. Her work centers on Universal Design for Learning (UDL), flipped classroom pedagogy, and digital literacy to create inclusive, engaging learning environments that support learner access, confidence, and academic and career growth across instructional modalities.

Charmyn Tumey is a dedicated educator and community leader based in East Texas (Go Pirates!) with a profound commitment to expanding opportunities for adult learners. With a career rooted in management and sales, Charmyn transitioned into the education sector after earning her MBA from LeTourneau University in 2011, a milestone that solidified her trajectory in nonprofit leadership. Building on over a decade of leadership within the Kilgore College Adult Education and Literacy program, Charmyn now serves as a Program Specialist for the Texas Career Pathways Professional Development Center at Restore Education. In this role, she bridges the gap between educational practices and Texas workforce needs, designing programs and facilitating workshops that empower diverse learners to achieve sustainable post-secondary outcomes. Inspired by her mother’s legacy of faith and service, Charmyn holds numerous leadership roles across civic and educational organizations. She remains a steadfast advocate for community uplifting, believing firmly in the transformative power of collaboration and lifelong learning.

Irene E. Ramos has worked in the field of Adult Education since August 1990 and has performed numerous roles in her career, ranging from Instructor to Program Manager. She is currently the Executive Director of Intellimethods, where she works alongside a strong team of hardworking professionals dedicated to providing high-quality professional learning opportunities and creating solutions that improve program efficiency and are widely affordable. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Our Lady of the Lake and a Doctorate in Jurisprudence from St. Mary's School of Law, both in San Antonio, Texas. Ramos lives with her husband of 37 years, in Poteet, Texas, where she was born and raised, and where she served on the city council and as Mayor.

The Hills Sisters, Dr. Jennifer Hills and Krystal Hills, are educators, creatives, and co-founders of The Leadership Academy of Creative Arts (TLACA), a nonprofit dedicated to illuminating pathways to success for all learners. Inspired by a grandmother who never completed her high school diploma but made education a family priority, they support adult learners through math, self-discovery through numbers, and technology. Through their work with Adult Education and Literacy at Dallas College and TLACA, they help learners and educators build digital confidence through practical, accessible learning.
